Our Missions

The purposes of the Sampson
High School Alumni Association, Inc:

mission1.  Establish and maintain continuous and periodic fellowship and association among Sampson High School graduates and friends;

2.  Establish and administer a scholarship fund for needy and worthy youth in Clinton and or Sampson County or decedents of Sampson High school Alumni Associated members;

3.  Promote allegiance, and support fidelity among all

Sampson High school graduates and associates;

4.  Unite Sampson High School graduates in worthwhile endeavors to help themselves and others; and;

5.  Organize and implement various worthwhile community projects to help the needy and underprivileged.

Educational Grants (Scholarships)

The Sampson High School Alumni Association, Inc. has established Educational Grant up to $1,500.00 per year. These grants are awarded to candidates who graduated or are in attendance at Clinton High School or to those graduates or candidates who are descendants of Sampson High School Alumni Association members.

2009 Grant Receipents

The annual scholarship recipients are determined in accordance with the provisions and regulations contained in the Guidelines for the SHSAA, Inc. Educational Grants. The 2006 scholarship recipients are:  Leah Holden, Shameika E. Faircloth, Kendra O. Phillips, Brian T. Sampson, Sasha M. Underwood, Leah R. Holden.

The Grants may be used for entrance to an accredited university, college, business school, technical school, or community college. The annual scholarship recipients are also determined by the Educational Grants Committee of the National Sampson High School Alumni Association, Incorporated, which is composed of at least five persons. The Committee includes a National Chairperson, who is an alumnus of Sampson or Clinton High School, a co-chairperson, and a chapter representative from each of the active chapters.  

Objectives and Purposes of the Educational Grants Committee:

1. To encourage, promote, and improve the educational standards etween students from Sampson County, Clinton High School and surrounding communities and also those descendants of SHSAA, Inc.
2. To enable students of limited financial resources to continue their education.
3. To afford worthy and talented students the opportunity to further cultivate their talents.

Affordable Housing - Sampson High School Housing Complex

SHSAA, Inc. completed renovation on one of its classroom buildings at the old Sampson High School site in 1997. The purpose of the renovation was to transform the classroom building into eight apartments that are collectively called the Sampson High School Housing Complex.  The Association’s Phase One Housing Complex Committee oversaw the renovation of the classroom building from beginning to end.  The address of the complex is 701 McKoy Street, Clinton, NC.

Each apartment has a living area, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom.  They are fully occupied and rent for a modest sum.  The apartments are managed by Venture Manor Realty, owned and operated by Johnny Pridgen.  These apartments help our organization to fulfill one of its missions, which is to provide affordable housing to those who need it.
